Biofuel plant for Hässleholm Miljö AB »
KMW Energi AB has received an order to construct a boiler plant for the production of heat.
KMW Energi AB is a leading Swedish supplier of hot water, power and cogeneration plants that are fired with biofuel. KMW Energi designs, manufactures and constructs customized solutions and is responsible for the entire combustion process. The plants can be operated using many different types of wood fuels and peat.
During recent years, KMW Energi has focused on developing cogeneration plants (CHP). Customers currently include primarily power plants and industries in the Nordic region, and KMW Energi has supplied most of the new cogeneration plants in Sweden in recent years. The company holds a strong position in an expansive industry and is active on several export markets.
The last big component, the turbine, is being lifted up to its position at Ekenäs (Finnish: Tammisaari). The installation will take approximately two months. Start-up and full commercial operation in autumn 2009. The plant at Ekenäs has a somewhat uncommon design. Apart from the district heating system, a big industrial customer is connected to the cogeneration plant. The turbine is a tandem turbine with a separate high and low pressure stage. It is connected to two individual condensers supplying a district heating system and a separate system for the industry facility. When the power plant is fully adjusted the generator's output will be 3246 kWe.
